HEAD START

Head Start is a federally funded program that promotes the school readiness of eligible prekindergarten children by enhancing their cognitive (brain), social, and emotional development. Head Start children and families receive comprehensive services that include health, dental, nutrition, family wellness, education, disabilities, and family services as a part of the federal guidelines.

Head Start classes have a maximum of 20 students, with a state-certified teacher and a CDA-credentialed assistant in each classroom.

A wide variety of materials enhance learning and exploration. Teacher-directed and child-selected experiences promote positive learning experiences. The prekindergarten program builds upon the preschool foundation for learning, focusing on pre-academic skills for school readiness. Children in our PreK program will be prepared to enter kindergarten with positive self-concept, curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
